But how to "install" most easily on Linux (I always use the svn) .
cd your/fpc/svn
make install INSTALL_PREFIX=/usr
This is broken on 2.7.1. Mantis 27272.
The bug report concerns INSTALL_BINDIR, not INSTALL_PREFIX?
INSTALL_PREFIX works fine for me, always has done.
