You might find that it runs "nonblocking" proc (with fancy anonymous/closure functions used), but in the end it all executes in the main loop running ProcessMessages. As a matter of fact, the same result could be achieved with TTimer used - just wait for the first timer event and then sign the song (with ProcessMessages)
