I respect what you are saying but I have a total different experience with DevExpress, I (and my colleagues) use most of their software and have no major technical problems. Talking on it's libraries we mainly mean the Grid which is a development platform it's self saving hours and hours of coding. Other DevExpress libraries are important but not critical. What I know is that when talking to developers (database management mostly) regarding alternative development environments I get same question: what about a Grid such DevExpress? > There are other libraries, much better, which would be better to port. > ICS/Midware, RXLib, Most Turbopower stuff, Indy, Intraweb. As important is the environment to run smoothly and bug free, so important is to attract third parties to support it. -- Panagiotis Sidiropoulos <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MAGENTA LTD Στις 06-08-2005, ημέρα Σαβ, και ώρα 20:47 +0200, ο/η Michael Van Canneyt Wrote: > > On Sat, 6 Aug 2005, Panagiotis Sidiropoulos wrote: > > > Dear Friends, > > > > I watch this list and also work to migrate to or at least use Lazarus as > > alternative to Delphi. > > Recently I sent this question to DEVEXPRESS having "DevExpress library > > and Lazarus" as subject: > > Devexpress is a horribly designed library, buggy as hell :/ > Even if it was ported to Lazarus, I would NEVER use it. > After having bought it we threw it out as quickly as possible. > > There are other libraries, much better, which would be better to port. > ICS/Midware, RXLib, Most Turbopower stuff, Indy, Intraweb.
