I can not see how compiled language could be compared to a byte code language...
Anyway, every language have it's own good and bad things. I myself use Pascal because I really enjoy using the language, and I don't see it so obsolete as many others do. Some implementation with Pascal does not exists on any other language out there, and usually because Pascal give you different approach in programming then many other languages. I'm also a Perl developer, and I really love the language, but I will not dream to use the language for havy programming, such interfaces, games or customer based programs. I will use Perl for CGI programming, or *nix based programming that requires system/minimal code to make all the work you need. I don't think that anyone can really answer "why to use this language" in a very objective prespective... So I think we should ask why not :) Ido Quoting Florian Klaempfl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > Thomas Zastrow wrote: > > > Florian Klaempfl wrote: > > > >> Zlatko Mati×– wrote: > >> > >> > >> > >>> Hello. > >>> > >>> Could someone explain me why using of pascal and not some new genration > >>> languages like Python or Ruby ? > >>> What are advantages ? > >>> > >> > >> > >> One advantage: > >> > http://shootout.alioth.debian.org/benchmark.php?test=all&lang=fpascal&lang2=python&sort=fullcpu > >> > >> > >> And: is there a real rad like lazarus for Python or Ruby? > >> > >> > > Are these benchmarks are serious???
