Well, you can also make daemon or CGI apps in Lazarus.
The LCL is just the visual part. I want something that
also works non-visual.

That is already way too complicated.
Anyway, I have it mostly set up. The good thing is that i've made the
transport pluggable. It works currently with pipes on Linux, but you could
easily change it to X-Window messages or whatever transport you want.
As soon as I did some tests I'll post the code with sample projects.
(both visual and non-visual)
