You have to re-compile the LCL for gtk2.
Set Tools -> Configure 'Build Lazarus' -> gtk2
Set Project -> Compiler Options -> gtk2
Then build all except the IDE (lcl, synedit, ..., ideintf).
Tools -> Build Lazarus
