I did a global search and found it at $HOME/.lazarus/bin/lazarus.
One of the CCR pages says that will happen if /usr/share/lazarus
is not writeable.

If i understand correctly you were compiling but weren't root so the
output was put into your /home/ dir, luckily i never install Lazarus
package in Linux (just FPC) but alway get the SVN in my home dir so i
don't have it.
Try this "Tools/Configure Build Lazarus" [Target Directory], and set
it to some of the options or directly where you want your files, i'm
pretty sure this was the setting i had to enable.
