Yes, it´s very slow at linking on Windows, on linux the linking speed is
good, but the programs it produces are very fast =) So I just get happy
by my customers.

using Cport with D6.
I don´t know if it fits your needs for the serial port because I only
tested it on a ISA Card, but I wrote a tutorial about multiplatform
programs that access the hardware using Lazarus. It worked flawlessly on
varios Linux distros, Windows 9x, NT, XP... etc

If you find any differences on the way I am accessing the hardware and
the way needed to make serial communication you can help writing the
