Remember that Linux is a system with many differences from distribution to distribution. Many fonts are not present at some distros, so the displayed text might get bigger / smaller then on the system where the application was developed without notice. Having resizable windows on Linux is always a good idea.

I've seen some dialogs even on Open Office where I couldn't access a part of it because the dialog probably wasn't like it was developed. Something was out of the reachable area. Not to mention that like all KDE dialogs are developed for huge monitors and this is really anoying for people using 800x640.
