I think I understand what you mean, but win32 is the best solution for
windows and gtk1 (atm) the best option for linux.
Gtk2 might compile and run on windows too, but has critical bugs. gtk1
won't compile on win32 (and that won't be fixed). But using the gtk2
won't make your application more portable, the LCL is supposed to be
your portability layer. Excluding GDI API calls will help portability,
of course.
