When converting from a file:// URL to a filename it converts the '/' to PathDelim. This is opensource, the comments can be read and there were mails about this topic. So, there is a basic documentation. But it is not at the place where people are searching. Non delphians don't want to look at Delphi help pages, they want Lazarus help pages. As Michael said: wikis are too unstructured. And the wiki search function is very bad. So although the things are documented (or better: started), people don't find it. Maybe you can help to improve it a little bit.
