[lazarus] psql - No transaction

Hi

I need to execute a sql statement that cannot be enclosed in a 
transaction (CREATE DATABASE) to be exact on a postgres server.

How do i do that from my client app i.e. how do I switch off the 
implicit transaction with sqldb?
