Commenting 'x: double = 0;' reduces performance 333%. Any ideas what's going on? And can somebody confirm this on other platforms?
I tried it under Win2000 with FPC 2.0.2 and don't get any change.
Both attempts resulted in the same answer. Elapsed: 78
