I have the same problem too. It recently started happening with my update this morning. I receive this error when using "none" as my debugger.

I tried using "gdb" as the debugger to see if that would make things better. However the next time I started my program I received a message stating the debugger was in an error state and all things should be saved and Lazarus restarted. I'm guessing that is because my gdb is probably older than what Lazarus wants (gdb 5.3).

In short I've gone back to "none" and just reset the debugger after my program closes.

Hi everyone,

I run my projects inside the IDE through the run and wait script.
After closing my running program the IDE 'stays in the debugging
session' as shown by '(debugging)' in the caption of the lazarus
editor. I cannot stop the debugger and have to reset it to get back
to the normal state. This is all without having specified any
debugger at all. This is really annoying and any help is highly
welcome.

Lazarus: rev 9497
FPC: 2.0.2
OS: Ubuntu Linux 6.06

Same here with latest Lazarus and fpc-2.1.1 (both svn trunk)
Suse linux 10.0

Note: it doesn't happen allways, but most of the time. Also, after
having this, lazarus throws some exceptions, when it is closed.
(sending more details, when I have this again)
