Learning a new programming language is not useful in itself.

If I had to spend time learning new languages all the time, to be up
to date with all hype languages, I wouldn't be improving my useful set
of skills, and on top I would know all these languages only superficially.

But that is just my point of view, of course...

I agree 100% with your statement.   Why be a Jack of all trades, and
master of none!  Everything I ever wanted to do with a programming
language, I can do with Object Pascal.
