I am of the opinion that there maybe 1000's of apps written in Python.  But I 
could be wrong.  However, I suggest you look at the job openings for python 
programmers - http://www.python.org/community/jobs/ - for this month alone.  
I'm only guessing, but each of the companies believe their project is an 
important app.  And of course you might want to check out google which runs 
python as their primary lang.

I don't understand your second prove?  I believe FPC could write most of the 
apps just like python (not to sure about google because we lack a web tool at 
the moment)

According to the author of Python Guido van Rossum there are around 30 core 
developers.  And of course there are 100's of outside Lib's written by 
others.

I'm finished defending python.  I won't even defend Ruby because I don't like 
it.  But I again say python is not some simple lang to kiss off as a toy.

BTW I don't like .Net either.
