version seems to have taken care of the problems with painting.

I did compare the lazarus version and the latest official VTV version
and I found couple places I could patch to solve painting problems and
other stuff like that. (Couple months ago.) And Christian merged the
few changes. It worked quite well for me on Windows, so I was glad of
that because I needed these problems to be fixed. (Especially when
using en editor window.)
Maybe you could try to do something like that if you want to fix some
issues that are left. This is complex work, but when you find the
solution, this is quite profitable! :)
