i would say the best idea it to write a TCustomControl descendent and
implement your own listview.
Other options are trying to change the existing listview or creating a
widgetset-dependent implementation, but I think those options will be
much more work and won´t be instantaneoulsy supported by all
widgetsets like a TCustomControl descendent.
