The way I see it, the application icon is what you see when you look
to the .exe file on the explorer. The top left icon is just a window
icon, and it doesn´t have to be equal to the application icon.


Sorry, I stand corrected. :-)  I was getting confused, you are right.
Linux doesn't have an embedded application icon when you look at the
the executable (as Windows does).  Under Linux, it is up to the window
manager to assign a icon.

Window icons (top left icon on a window) is controllable by Lazarus
under Linux and Windows. Not sure about other platforms.
