With 'inlines' it became worse. If you want to know the gory details
search the fpc mailing lists (e.g. mac-pascal subject 'recompiling
for no reason (it seems)').
Just as a test, I moved all the StyleManager.pas code into the
fpgui.pas unit. The problem then moved to a different unit
(windowsstyle.pas) which I guess is caused by the same circle
reference bug. Strangely enough, I use such circle references a lot
in my commercial applications and never experienced this problem.
I'll try and remove the 'inline' functions as well. Was meaning to do
that ages ago and forgot.
They only cut down on the amount of code that gets pulled into fpGUI,
but that's not really a issue anymore.
As for searching the mailing list. The signature attached to all
emails to the mailing list shows a archive URL. That url doesn't work
by the way.
