Damn, I should have paid more attention. :-)
I just tried it out now, using .png images in a test app with a few
menus. Yeah, the png images seem to work fine.
I've already created a set of 18 new images for the IDE menus using
the XPM format. I'll submit them for now and at a later date change
them to PNG.
