Indeed, thanks Mathias.
I can now use Lazarus again on GTK2.
There is a little strangeness still with the OI and property lists. The lists
will still not display, but show as a single (perhaps edit) box, but if I
click on the color property, the full list of color choices displays and then
all the other listed values for properties will display correctly when
selected with the mouse.
