Some time ago I volunteered to maintain a stable branch, which would
only contain bug fixes after an official release.
I didn't forget my promise, but I've been unable to honor it, because
I've been hampered by some personal problems, and when I was ready to
go, the amount of changes from 9.22 was so great that it appeared a
titanic task.
I'll try a fresh start with next official release. Given the rate of
changes it may still quickly become a titanic task, but it's worth a try.
