I tried locale-gen "de_DE" which created the de_DE.ISO-8859-1. I can
start gedit without complaining any more. Although I still see the
english texts.
Then I used export LANG=de_DE.ISO-8859-1 and started the IDE. It shows
the german translations. All umlaute appear correct and I can type
umlaute.
Any other idea how to reproduce the bug under ubuntu feisty?
