I created a demo for fpGUI, but the same principle will apply for LCL
based applications.

http://fpgui.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/fpgui/trunk/examples/gui/splashscreen/
Have a look at the frm_splashscreen.pas unit.

What I meant by "Clicking on" is that some applications show a splash
screen for a bit longer than needed, even after the application is
fully loaded (started up). The user can then click anywhere inside
the splash screen window to remove/close it immediately.

Example:
Say the splash screen is designed to display for 6 seconds, but the
application only takes 2 seconds to start up. That means the splash
screen is still visible for 4 seconds. The user can now or wait for 4
seconds, or click on the splash screen to close it immediately and
continue working.
