Assuming you are backing up to a network based file system then the following
information will be helpful.

FYI : The most recent alpha build of LBackup includes the following output
(quoted below) now when the permissions are detected to be disabled on the
destination.

> Check that the destination file system is directly attached storage or is a
> virtual file system. Network based file systems are unsupported backup
> destinations (for LBackup backup sets).

You may store the backup on a network attached file system if you use a virtual
file system. For example on Mac OS X you may use a disk image. The following
page contains information relating to encrypted backups :
http://www.lbackup.org/encrypted_backups

Please note that you may also generate disk images on Mac OS X which are not
encrypted and the information found at the URL(s, above and below) will be
relevant.

Also, if you are using the latest alpha release of LBackup then the following
page will be of interest to you should you decide to use a disk image as the
backup destination :
http://www.lbackup.org/initialization_scripts/initialize_disk_image_pre_and_post_hooks

You may wish to download the most recent alpha build from the following URL :
http://www.lbackup.org/download/latest_alpha_release/

Best regards,
Henri
