If you plan to use lcms to decode TIFF Lab, there is a profile here: http://www.littlecms.com/tiff8adobe.zip that does it almost transparently. Just feed the transform with the TIFF raw data and get the RGB, CMYK or whatsever. New Lab16 (as per Adobe last TTN) is encoded differently, and works with cmsCreateLabProfile().
