Well, I was trying to watch video that has been inverted. If I simply invert it without doing anything special, the gamma is screwed up, so it is watchable, but not particularly good quality. I had thought that I could create an appropriate negative profile to compensate for the wrong gamma it could be improved. My monitor supports icm profiles, so it would be trivial to simply load the correct inverted profile. Not a common use of icm profiles, I know, but I was interested in trying it out of curiousity.

I am not using it for 35 mm negatives or anything like that - I would simply invert in Vuescan.

Anyway, thanks for replying.

Hi.

Oh, well, negative profiles were never supported, indeed. I'm not
surprised the profiler got crazy on that :-)

Anyway, is there any special reason to do that? lcms does already
support negative values as an special encoding type. But since there
are no devices like "negative monitors"...

If you are trying to use this profile for raw camera format, forgot it.
There are such quantity of additional tweaks needed that I'm afraid
a simple negative profile would simply not work.
