Thanks Marti, I created a new profile without the local convergence analysis. The dE rose from 2.08 to 2.99. I ran the same input image through tifficc using both profiles. The resultant images are virtually identical - it is hard to tell any difference between them.
At the end of The Computer Darkroom article that Geoff (thanks Geoff) referred me to was a link to the HutchColor HCT - a target with more patches than the Kodak IT8. Has anyone had any experience with one of these? I am currently investigating the editing facilities in MonacoProfiler to see if I can correct the profile. Anything else I can try? Thanks, Robert. Hi, Assuming you are using the lprof profiler for generating the profile, turn off the local convergence analysis. This will rise a few the dE, but eliminate those false colors on gamut boundaries. This will be solved in new profilers.
