thanx to the developers for the good work on lcms !
I'm playing with it for generation of CSAs and CRDs for a PS-RIP for a laser color copier/printer, which works fine, except from the reproduction of white when simulating another CMYK colorspace via << /UseCIEColor true >> setpagedevice and remapping DeviceCMYK via a generated CSA.
All colors look fine, but white does not remain white (regardless of rendering intent and CRD and originating Profile for CSA), it is always a bit dirty.
Printing RGB images using an RGB-Profile -> CSA works fine, white remains white. The same CMYK-workflow in Photoshop 7 works too, only the in-rip conversion with the CSA fails.
I don't have the deep background in color conversion mathematics and its implementation in PostSctipt (not yet, but I'm still hopeful...)
So my question: Can I modify the originating profile or the CSA (or the generating code) to get a clear white in the simulation ? Or is it a bug in lcms ?
It looks like the problem mentioned in this posting: http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?thread_id=2922755&forum_id=1912
If it is and will remain a bug - is there another (free or non-free) library for creating CSAs on Windows or Linux ?
Thank you a lot !
Regards
Reinhard
