Hi,

There are some notes on profiler usage here:
http://www.littlecms.com/profiler_qs.htm

Regarding "Push endpoints", this option moves DMIN,DMAX
slightly in order to increase the dynamic range on perceptual intent.
Is mainly intended for digital cameras. Let's take an example.
Imagine you have a target image taken by a digital camera. then,
despite DMin is white in the target, is is quite possible to get pictures
with zones a lot more "white". Pushing slightly the white in target
assures profile will not clip those zones, leaving some extra range
from target white to real world white. DMax works same, but for
dark zones.

"Discard patches" is still not working. It will be a means to discard
noisy patches that would introduce artifacts in the profile. Again,
for digital cameras.

Regards,
Marti.

Subject: [Lcms-user] picker template options

Hello,

Is there anywhere I can find out about the effects of the various picker
template options Profiler Beta 3, ie "Push end points" + "Discard
Patches with high Chi-sq"?

I appreciate that there is no manual just now. I would just like to get
an understanding of these options. Maybe you could just give me a
pointer where I could read up on this.
