Hi, I just wondered if Marti ever considered to write/port lcms in Java? This would make lcms available -- including GUI -- on all major three platforms. In addition Java also aready has some ICC specific libraries in the API.
Was speed a major concern? I can imagine that today Java (1.4 or 1.5) would be not much slower. Does somebody know if Java uses an own CMM or the native Apple/ICM? I also found a reference to the KCMS from Kodak, which seems to be related used by Sun. Is KCMS the "old" Kodak CMM which has a low repute or is the Kodak CMM updated nowadays? If someone knows facts or links which give an oversight of the different CMM's I'll appreciate to get a pointer. On a totally unrelated note. Does someone have Argyll binaries for windows? I have not much experience with C and could not compile Argyll with BCC 5.5 without Jam. I would be glad if someone can upload the Argyll binaries (second I'm also interested in Mac OS X binaries) or e-mail them to me. That would save me much time. I asked Graeme for binaries but he told me that he would not be in the position (due high online costs) to provide the binaries. Marti, I hope my posting is not too off-topic and you can bear with me :-) Best regards Peter ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: IBM Linux Tutorials Free Linux tutorial presented by Daniel Robbins, President and CEO of GenToo technologies.
