Kai,
The actual photogamut-profile is based on mixed realworld RGB-print characterization-data, which was heavily edited with high-end colormanagement tools, to expand the gamut slightly and to receive an optimal greybalance.

The photogamut-Team is now working on an internal used "colorspace-construction-kit" which can deliver total synthetical RGB-characeterization-data with printlike primaries, an ideal greybalance, very smooth shadings and similarities to sRGB in the near neutrals.

We hope to finish the work in some weeks, but it can also take some months....

Later, some of us plan to develop tools for analysis and quality control of gamutmapping in ICC-based workflows.
The plan is to deliver the basic tools under the creative commons licence.

Jan-Peter,
is RGB profile calculated by an spectral calculation or by physical
pigments? What is the base of it?
As it dont serve any primaries it seems to be not monitor intented.
This at least I can see.

Hi List
At http://www.photogamut.org you can find an ICC-profile which
represents more or less the colors of reflective media.

The near neutral colors are coded like sRGB. So using the
photogamut-profile with untagged sRGB-data gives nice resultas compared
to tagging with eg. AdobeRGB, ProPhotoRGB oder ECI-RGB.

The profile is still in beta, and we hope to release a next version in
some weeks.

The Idea of this profile is to be used as RGB-workingspace for ICC based
colormanagement, having no problems, when untagged sRGB-data is used,
and all professional CMYK printing spaces are ingamut of the
photogamut-profile.

as far as I understand CIE*Lab is an way to describe colors, which may or
may not be physically existent.
My question is which is the colorspacebody of physically ideal
refrective media? What is the belonging gamut of Lab?
Is it possible to shrink such an colorspacebody to an special reflective
media?
