Hi,
is it possible and feasible to use lcms for HDR->Lab profiles ? Ok, lets be a bit more detailed.
Assume that I have several device ICC profiles for varying exposures. Also, I have a HDR mapping: shot sRGB + exposure -> HDR (or rather some variation thereof involving logarithms and such so that the actual range of the HDR values is not too big, e.g. about -4 to 10 for each axis).
Now my hope is that it is possible to use lcms to e.g. convert HDR colors to Lab colors or HDR images to Float-TIFF (Lab) images. My first idea was to combine the profiles into one ICC profile that maps XYZ (or 3colorData) to Lab, where the input XYZ values are HDR colors generated by applying the HDR mapping to the input values of the ICC profiles.
Is this feasible ? If so, how would I go about it using lcms? I'm really new to lcms, so any pointers (or even pseudocode) would really be appreciated.
Thanks, Tom
