That could be quite valuable, if you have a similar chart for
the display (although keep in mind that there is sensor to
sensor variation, and the datasheet may be an average curve).
Given those two pieces of information, all you
really need then is to be able to calibrate the camera
for its level response. Most sensors are basically linear
in "raw" mode, so you might even be able to avoid the
need for that as well.

As far as the IT8 being different from the CRT, that's why I was considering generating a test chart via targen/printtarg. It looks like a conversion from argyll's .cht format to LPROF's .ITX would be in order.

You need a reflective measuring instrument to setup a custom
chart though. If you have one, great, otherwise it doesn't
help you much.
