Hi, I agree having to impose such limitations is lame, but there are Legal implications that is just better to avoid. Really. Anyway, I think You can effectively ignore the chromatic adaptation tag since the Information it contains is only used by a specialized kind of absolute colorimetric intent. Very few CMM honor this tag, which main purpose is to recover the chromaticity of original illuminant. Also this is v4 stuff: that means any v2 CMM should ignore this tag. This is certainly the case of ICM.
I haven't tried, but chances are that ICM and Get/SetColorProfileElement will not handle the tag.
