Hi, list: LCMS 2.0 is on everybody's mind now, but let me go back to the basics just one moment...
Imaging you have a monochrome printer. And for each media supported, first thing you do is to generate a linearized dither matrix, so that a linear contone ramp will generate linear output (in L*, or lightness, or Ciecam's J, or Density,... that's a different topic). That means that the same color transform will be valid for all medias, provided they are used with the appropriate dither matrix, won't it? It seems so simple, that I think I am missing something... Or maybe I am just shifting tasks, from the transform to the dither...? Thanks, Ignacio PS: I know, in the different rendering intents you can provide more features, but I am now thinking on a simple sRGB to K, saturation mode table, that can be embedded in the printer... -- ______________________________________________________________ Ignacio Ruiz de Conejo Senior Imaging Researcher Tel. : +61 28875 9682 e-mail: ignacio.ruizdecon...@silverbrookresearch.com ______________________________________________________________
