And some other things...
My display (in Standard mode) has a response about gamma 1.74
If I create a matrix + curves style profile without calibration (or if I
choose gamma 1.74 as a target response) the result is very good with MPC-HC
(float32 lcms output and dithered 10-bit/color display output, so it should
be...) except that I have serious near-black banding.
The black-point compensation feature helps a lot but it's still far from
enough if my target is gamma 2.35 (vs 1.74)
Would it be possible (via plugins or somehow else) to tweak this black point
compensation feature a bit?
(And to create a new intent like "Absolute Colorimetric with BPC support").
There is no near-black banding with XYZ LUT profiles but they have another
problem: BPC causes elevated black levels with them (0% black becomes dark
gray).
And there are no problems like this if I calibrate my display first with
2.35 target gamma and I use a matrix + single gamma style profile. (But it
would make life much easier to skip the calibration -for every targets- and
use only one profile for everything. Softwares can work with higher
precision with better dithering anyway...)
By the way, why BPC doesn't work with the Abs.c. intent by default? BPC is
an optional thing anyway. (But this would make the things easier.)
