Hi Richard,
|9.2.1 |AToB0Tag |Tag signature: ‘A2B0’ (41324230h) |Permitted tag types: lut8Type or lut16Type or lutAToBType The spec allows to store old-style LUT, the Lab encoding of those tags is still V2, but there are subtle variations V2/V4 like for example the non-zero black point of V4 perceptual PCS, the reference gamut and so. I think it is not generally safe to include V2 tags in a V4 profile. It should be converted somehow. Regarding the use of proprietary tags, I would not do that because compatibility issues. If Photoshop does not read the profile, people would complain about the profile, not Photoshop (for example) Regards Marti El 31/03/2013 12:49, Richard Hughes escribió: > Hey list, another question. > > When building, colord uses colprof to generate the common CMYK > profiles, e.g. FOGRA30L and ISOnewspaper26 from ti3 source data. > colprof can only create V2 profiles unless I'm mistaken. > After colord has finished, colord then opens the created file, and > then inserts some translated description, copyright and profile > description using three mluc tags.
