I am facing a rather difficult challenge. The printer manufacturer asked me
to create an ICC profile which will correct the print image output so that
it works properly on the media that is manufactured specially for us. There
is no ICC profile for this media. We are dependent the ink and printer
characteristics. Because this is a RIP printer we cannot adjust or turn of
the ICC inside the printer. In order to help us they asked if we could
create an ICC profile that adjusts the problems. They will then create a
special RIP ICC profile inside the printer/driver that will accommodate our
media.
My problem is that I do not know how to create a delta ICC profile that they
can load in for example LittleCMS or Photoshop and with that profile get
correct print results.
What tools will work to create such ICC profile and how to prove and measure
that it works properly? To manually adjust and see works but not good enough
and does not give me proper ICC profile info that they need.
