Hi Jeff,

With current ICC architecture, it is up to the profile to do the color  
mapping, so transicc will do exactly what you want if you provide the  
right profiles. For example, V2 sRGB does not do any gamut mapping,  
but the preference or appearance sRGB profile does. Most output  
profiles for real devices do gamut mapping as well.
