Hello. After having wrrten a script to have converted a lot of contacts from
CSV format to ldap server, now I am teaching each user to connect their PIM
software (100% are using Outlook or Outlook Express). Most of the users feel
the login is too difficult to remember, they have to write it down. The
users have to write down the login username, which is a 5-level deep dn, and
write down the so-called 'search base', which is the dn of the ou that most
contacts are stored (actually,
'ou=contacts,ou=departmentA,ou=headquarter,dc=trasfasic,dc=com') and use
both to configure Outlook.

Perhaps a little bird told me, but I cannot really recall somewhere someone
told me or I read something that users can simply login to LDAP server with
their email address, but I don't see if it is possible after read some
manuals. And also if it is possible to provide a 'default search base' so
that users don't have to remember 'search base' and by default the search is
done on that search base, that would be much better. Any hint?
