Hello -
My name is Matt Roessner and I am a System Programmer for Hormel Foods. We
have been talking lately about implementing some sort of global LDAP
directory in our organization. We are currently running Active Directory,
Lotus Notes, Oracle Financials, ZOS, etc. Basically what we would like to
do is to have all of these directories sync up with a master directory
which would contain a unique ID for each employee in our company. This
unique ID would have associations linked to it from all of the other
systems. For example, Matt Roessner would have an IT_ID of 123456789 and by
querying this, I would find that my AD username is MROESSNER, my notes
username is MRROESSNER, my financials username is OF12, etc.
Is this something that is being done in the industry? We are currently in
the process of implementing SIEBEL CRM and would like to authenticate to an
LDAP directory (we can't talk directly to AD because we are running SIEBEL
on AIX and they only support ADSI when you run SIEBEL on Windows).
I was just curious if you would have any recommendations for possible
directions or if we should look more into another direction.
Any help that you can offer is greatly appreciated!
Thank you
Matthew Roessner
