It wasn't either of those, but my invocation of ldap that specified an
erroneous url. Oops. At any rate, that's behind me now, but I get this
error (or is it an error?) that I haven't been able to yahoo:

#  ldapadd -f entries.ldif -x -D "cn=admin,dc=example,dc=com" -w password
adding new entry "dc=example,dc=com"
ldap_add: Confidentiality required (13)
        additional info: stronger confidentiality required for update

What does this mean?

Use TLS/SSL?
