Klarien: To help you understand why it's considered HA...
Redundancy of hardware is considered a key component of HA. Therefore the redundancy of I/O domains (split bus) allows redundancy within a given physical server for PCIe cards (HBAs and NICs) which if properly planned provide for internal physical server redundancy to external network switches and SAN Luns (data). It also allows the complete failure of an I/O domain without halting guest domain activity. Clustering software is not the only form of HA. However, the caveat is still that all of the guest LDoms reside on a single physical server. While it is not considered the best HA option, it is highly important to many "development" shops who do not need the costliest HA solution. HA must be balanced with ingenuity and budgets ;) -- This message posted from opensolaris.org
