Redundancy of hardware is considered a key component of HA.  Therefore the 
redundancy of I/O domains (split bus) allows redundancy within a given physical 
server for PCIe cards (HBAs and NICs) which if properly planned provide for 
internal physical server redundancy to external network switches and SAN Luns 
(data).  It also allows the complete failure of an I/O domain without halting 
guest domain activity.  Clustering software is not the only form of HA.

However, the caveat is still that all of the guest LDoms reside on a single 
physical server.  While it is not considered the best HA option, it is highly 
important to many "development" shops who do not need the costliest HA 
solution.  HA must be balanced with ingenuity and budgets ;)
