When NPIV becomes available for HBAs on the SPARC platform, it would seem to be
possible to then virtualize FibreChannel HBAs, just as NICs are virtualized
today.

However, it's not clear what the integration with LDOMs will look like, or even
if there is a plan to virtualize FC HBAs on SPARC LDOMs. For instance:
- How are the virtual WWPNs generated/stored by Solaris on the physical HBAs in
the control domain?
- How are the virtual WWPNs tied to virtual HBAs and then presented to guest
domains?

Are there any ARC materials specific to SPARC on this yet?

Since some businesses/sites would like to virtualize large numbers of older
machines, with the proviso that SAN storage allocation procedures (zoning,
masking, etc) on the SAN *and* the host cannot change, the virtualization of
two or more HBAs per LDOM is an important requirement. Otherwise, LDOMs are
relegated to greenfields installations.
