Asa,
I have a customer trying to install a Solaris9-branded zone inside an
ldom, and it keeps failing when the install process tries to boot the
zone for the first time with the following message (from the log):
*zoneadm: zone 'zone9': exec /usr/lib/brand/solaris9/s9_boot zone9
/branded/zone9 failed*
*zoneadm: zone 'zone9': call to zoneadmd failed*
...which leaves me with this:
*# zoneadm list -cv*
* ID NAME STATUS PATH BRAND
IP *
* 0 global running / native
shared*
* - zone9 incomplete /branded/zone9
solaris9 shared*
As far as I know, the global zone meets all the requirements listed in
the documentation:
- Solaris10 8/07
- Patch 127111-11 is installed.
- SUNW9brandr, SUNW9brandu, and SUNWbrandk were successfully installed
in that order.
The zone configuration I'm using is straight from the docs.sun.com pdf
820-4490 . About the only differences between the doc and what I'm doing:
a) I'm not sharing a zfs dir.
b) I'm using a directory /branded instead of /export/home
c) I'm using my own flar (but that gets installed)
If you can give me any insight in troubleshooting the zoneadmd failure,
I'd really appreciate it.
I copied the entire log below.
Thanks!
