The convert-step is not quite clear to me. I understand that in my
source-solaris 10 5/08 installation some platform-specific files for sun4v are
missing. Ok. So the convert-step of ldmp2v-tool is required. But if i do this
step by executing: ldmp2v convert -i /data/install/images/solaris10_0508_u6.iso
-d /root/sinfra008 -v sinfra008
i get finaly to the following screen:
? Solaris Interactive Installation ?????????????????????????????????????????????
On the following screens, you can accept the defaults or you can customize
how Solaris software will be installed by:
- Selecting the type of Solaris software to install
- Selecting disks to hold software you've selected
- Selecting unbundled products to be installed with Solaris
- Specifying how file systems are laid out on the disks
After completing these tasks, a summary of your selections (called a
profile) will be displayed.
There are two ways to install your Solaris software:
- "Standard" installs your system from a standard Solaris Distribution.
Selecting "Standard" allows you to choose between initial install
and upgrade, if your system is upgradable.
- "Flash" installs your system from one or more Flash Archives.

The is no way to update! Of course this is correct because my system is already
10 5/08.
Can you explain the convert-phase of ldmp2v in more detail?
I've tried the same using an 10 5/09 - Image although but the same happens.
What are the proper steps to transfer a solaris-10 installation to a ldom?
Is there any manual strategy to do this?
