Thanks a lot Stephan. When I boot my copied guest os, I am fully in read only 
mode, where I cannot edit files. So editing /etc/vfstab is out of the question, 
I guess. When I boot my original guest os I have my /etc/vfstab as
/dev/dsk/c0d1s1 -       -       swap    -       no      -
/dev/dsk/c0d1s0 /dev/rdsk/c0d1s0        /       ufs     1       no      -

If I change this to c0d0, I think this also will crash. Someone is currently 
using this, so what I will do is try changing this after he is done. I can 
dispose this image afterwards if it doesn't work.

The idea of doing this approach was to make sure that complex softwares which 
need installation of say days together can be made into an LDOMS image, booted 
up and then just make the changes to suit the IP address part. I think the 
approach suggested by you is ideal. I will try that out.
