I have two T5220s. One is running 14 LDoms + Primary/Control domain. About
half are production - web server and middle tier - and half are test/dev - web
server, middle and DB. The other T5220 is intended as fail over/backup.
The current active T5220 has a motherboard fault and I need to shut it down.
The spare T5220 is not yet configured for LDom use.
I would like to finish configuring the second T5220 and migrate the LDoms. The
LDoms have only 4 VCPUs each (mostly) so I don't think "Active Domain" migration
is an option.
Details:
Primary/Control domain boots from internal disk(s) - SVM mirrored pair
Both are at the following software/firmware levels:
Logical Domain Manager (v 1.3)
Hypervisor control protocol v 1.4
Using Hypervisor MD v 1.1
System PROM:
Hypervisor v. 1.7.7 @(#)Hypervisor 1.7.7 2010/03/15
09:26\015
OpenBoot v. 4.30.7 @(#)OBP 4.30.7 2010/03/15 07:43
Each T5220 has two HBAs attached the SAN (6140).
All LDoms boot from their own unique LUN on 6140 (those running Oracle AS and
DB have additional unique LUNs for each /u01 ect. filesystem).
All filesystems are UFS.
Each LDom has two network interfaces. There are two subnets total and each
LDom has an interface to each subnet.
There are several Solaris 10 patch levels in use:
SunOS 5.10 Generic_127127-11
SunOS 5.10 Generic_141444-09
SunOS 5.10 Generic_142900-11
I control hardware and software configuration for the T5220s, 6140, Brocade FC
switches (5000 and 3900) and the Cisco firewall configuration.
I believe I have the needed resources but not sure how to put it together.
I'm looking for advice (options) on what I need to do to complete
setup/configuration of the second T5220 and perform the migrations.
Thanks for your advice and wisdom,
Glen
